South Brook NL

South Brook NL

South Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, is a town located adjacent the Trans Canada Highway at the bottom of Hall’s Bay. It gets its name from the brook that runs alongside it.

South Brook’s proximity to the TCH, as well as its position at the mouth of Green Bay South, has no doubt contributed to its local economy. The school there closed some years ago and children now attend school in Springdale, but it is still possible to get gas in the town, go out for a meal and pop out to one of two convenience shops.

As in most of our communities, there are volunteers in South Brook doing a great job at making improvements.  A Memorial Garden is a recent addition to the town, and even a recycling depot operates in this small community of just under 500 people.
