Springdale Braves Up Their Game

September 26, 2017 ~ The Springdale Braves are bringing competitive senior hockey back to Springdale, in a pretty serious way. The team has been approved to join the Central Senior Intermediate Hockey League, which will now be a 5 team league:

Northeast Sabres (Baie Verte)
Lewisporte Seahawks
Twillingate Combines
Exploits Blades (GFW)
Springdale Braves

On 4 separate weekends league teams will roll into Springdale for some crowd pleasing hockey action in Springdale Stadium.

Joining the league means Springdale Braves will get a whole lot more game time this season. There will be 8 more weekends of hockey for the team: 16 regular season games plus playoffs.

But, wait. There’s more! The Green Bay Cup, a friendly 4 out of 7 series played last season between the Springdale Braves and the Triton-based Green Bay South Combines, will go ahead again this season. Those games will be added to the Braves’ schedule through the winter.

The Braves’ packed season will start mid November and it seems they may get too busy taking to the ice to ever bother taking off their skates.

No one will be able to say “There’s nothing to watch.” in Green Bay this winter.
