Some Visitor Restrictions Put in Place at Grand Falls-Windsor Hospital

March 9, 2018 ~ Because of cases of respiratory illness, temporary visitation precautions have been put in place at the hospital in Grand Falls-Windsor.

To help keep the spread of influenza-like illness down, only one visitor at a time is permitted for each patient/resident.

As well, all visitors must be at least 14 years of age.

The visitor precautions do not apply to people visiting palliative care patients/residents.

It is still flu season and Central Health reminds all visitors to Central Health facilities to wash their hands after arriving and before leaving Central Health facilities.

Central Health stated in the news release:

“If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, please delay visiting any of our facilities until you’re feeling better. All members of the public are encouraged to get their flu shot.

“Central Health recognizes the importance of family and friend visits, and thanks you for your understanding and assistance in preventing the spread of this illness.”
