July 10, 2018 ~ Organizers of a protest in support of Springdale’s Dr. Todd Young have just announced the protest will have to be postponed.
The protest had been scheduled for July 16th and would have two parts. It would have involved protesting at MHA Brian Warr’s offices in Springdale and an additional protest would follow at Central Health’s offices in Grand Falls-Windsor.
July 16th, however, is Grand falls-Windsor Day and is a municipal holiday.
An organizer told greenbayfeed.com today that the protest will be rescheduled. That new date has yet to be announced.
He encourages the public in the meantime to “show their displeasure with the announcement of the [Family Practice] closure if Dr young’s full privileges aren’t reinstated prior to the closure date.”
The protest initiative came after Dr. Todd Young’s recent announcement that he will end the Family Practice aspect of his Main Street Medical Clinic services. He cited a lack of hospital privileges as a reason.
There has been some confusion about the Main Street Medical Clinic announcement. It is only the clinic’s Family Practice aspect of services there that is slated to end in October.
