King’s Point is Getting a Community Garden

King’s Point is Getting a Community Garden

June 1, 2018 ~ The boxes are built. The area is being landscaped. Planting season is around the corner.

Soon King’s Point will join the other towns, like South Brook, that have a community garden.

All King’s Point needs now are ‘farmers’ to sign up to use the garden. A very well-received announcement was made yesterday on social media that applications are available online for those interested in using a part of the garden this season.

Interested residents can also drop into the Town Office to get an application.

The Town has been preparing the area for the Community Garden. It will be located next local landmark ‘Paddy’s Brook’. The Alexander Murray Hiking Trail Buildings can be seen in the background of this photo.

The community garden is a joint effort between Valmont Academy and the Town of King’s Point.

The garden will be located at the beginning of town, next to the sliding hill that was constructed last fall.

King’s Point residents can get more information on the project by going to the Town’s Facebook page or by calling the Town Office.
