Jan 1st/2nd SNOWFALL Warning Issued for Green Bay White Bay

 

Published January 1st, 2019 ~ New year, more snow. Warm up your snow shovels, there are a lot of centimeters on the way.

Ten to twenty centimeters are expected tonight, with more tomorrow. Winds are expected as well.

Environment Canada issued the snowfall warning today:

Green Bay – White Bay

Snow, at times heavy, is forecast to develop this evening giving snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm by Wednesday morning.

An additional 5 to 10 cm is expected Wednesday before the snow tapers off Wednesday afternoon or evening. Strong northwesterly winds are expected to develop along the coast Wednesday afternoon. Blowing snow may be significant at that time.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.

A blizzard warning was issued for Grand Falls. That statement also included a travel warning: “Travel is expected to be extremely hazardous due to reduced visibility.”
