Gov. Funds Announced for Brighton, Baie Verte and Shoe Cove

 

September 10, 2018 ~ Today Provincial Government representatives announced $7.3 million that will be spent in municipal infrastructure projects across the central region of the province.

The Government is cost-sharing the projects with the Federal Government, and with the communities involved.

Of the 13 communities that will get a piece of the pie, three are in the Baie Verte – Green Bay district.

 

Shoe Cove will receive $110,181 in funding towards a $135,000 water treatment upgrades project. The Provincial Government will contribute $69,378 of the $110,000 and the Federal Government will contribute $40,803.

Baie Verte will get $648,841 in funds for a sewage treatment project that will cost a total $795,000. Of that, $408,554 will be provincially funded and $240,287 will come from the Federal Government.

Brighton will get $285,653 in funding for a $350,000 sanitary sewer and septic tank project. The Province will contribute $179,866 of the funding and the Federal Government will contribute $105,787.
