March 22, 2018 ~ The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources has been reminding residents that the deadline for big game licence draw applications is March 29, 2018, at 4:30 p.m.
Applications should be submitted as soon as possible to ensure timely processing.
They are encouraging eligible hunters to return completed applications to the Department of Fisheries and Land Resources, or apply online at www.wildlife.gov.nl.ca. They say online application process is the quickest way to apply and provides immediate confirmation that the application has been received by the department.
Office hours have been extended to 8:00 pm.to accommodate those who have questions regarding their application. For information on the big game licence draw procedure, you can call 709-637-2025 or email [email protected]
Big game licence applications have already been mailed to hunters who are eligible to participate in the licence draw.
To be eligible for participation in the big game licence draw individuals must:
– Be a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador;
– Be at least 16 years of age by August 31, 2018;
– Have a Hunter Certificate Number; and
– Have completed the Firearms Safety/Hunter Education Course or applied for an Outdoor Identification Card before December 10, 2017.
